About A&R Guru SMS Messages

A&R Guru (ar-guru.com) sends SMS text messages only to users who have explicitly opted in. We use SMS to deliver time-sensitive notifications directly related to your band activity on the platform.

Types of Messages We Send
  • Gig & event reminders — upcoming shows, rehearsal schedules, and venue confirmations for bands you belong to.
  • Band alerts — new member requests, setlist changes approved by your band leader, and voting deadlines.
  • Booking notifications — when a gig inquiry is received, accepted, or requires your signature or payment action.
  • Account security — one-time codes for account verification (only when SMS verification is enabled).

We do not send marketing promotions, advertisements, or third-party offers via SMS.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your band activity. A typical active member may receive 2–10 messages per month. Members with no active bands will receive very few or no messages.

How to Opt Out

You may stop receiving SMS messages at any time using either method:

  1. Reply STOP to any A&R Guru SMS message. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further texts.
  2. Uncheck the SMS toggle in your Account Settings (sign in, then go to Profile → SMS Notifications).

After opting out, you may re-enable SMS notifications at any time from your account settings.

Rates & Carriers

Message & data rates may apply. Standard carrier messaging rates from your mobile provider apply to all messages sent and received. A&R Guru does not charge separately for SMS notifications.

SMS messaging is available on most US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and others. Delivery is not guaranteed on all networks or international numbers.

Privacy

Your mobile number is used solely to deliver the notifications described above. We do not sell, share, or rent your phone number to third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
