Mike and the Mechanics

Mike and the Mechanics are a British rock band formed in 1985 as a side project of Mike Rutherford (Genesis). The band achieved global success with "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)" (1985) and "The Living Years" (1988), the latter reaching #1 in both the UK and US and addressing themes of generational conflict and regret. They remain an active touring and recording act.
